Thoth 1.9 is a Macintosh usenet newsreader. Four versions are available. One supports Intel Macs running OS X 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9. A second is for PowerPC Macs running OS X 10.5. Separate versions for Intel and PowerPC Macs running OS X 10.4 are also available. Thoth 1.9, OS X 10.7 and later, and GateKeeper

Thoth 1.9 does work with OS X 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9. However, as it is not available from the App Store, and is not a signed/sandboxed application, Gatekeeper may object the first time you try to run Thoth (or Thoth Trial). You just need to configure Gatekeeper or your Mac to allow Thoth to run. Please follow the Instructions in Thoth's “!!Read ME FIRST.rtfd” document, or Apple's instructions under “How to open an app from a unidentified developer and exempt it from Gatekeeper” here.

I'm sorry, but I no longer have the means to provide support via email.

Registering and Downloading

Unfortunately, after a decade of consistently poor sales, Thoth is no longer available for downloading or registration. The possible influx of registrations from MT-NewsWatcher users updating to Mavericks and needing a new newsreader could have kept Thoth going for another couple of years, but the registrations never materialized.

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who registered Thoth over the years, and to all who offered constructive criticism, encouragement, ideas for improvements, and help in their own way. Special thanks to the few who re-registered, to Drew D. Saur for hosting Thoth downloads for so many years, and to Jean-Pierre Kuypers for both hosting Thoth and the long hours he spent providing French localization for Thoth. More acknowledgements can be found in the Thoth User Guide in Thoth's Help menu
